My ‘proper’ name (as my parents would say) is Charlotte although I’m widely known as Charlie. Unfortunately though, when you couple the name Charlie with the surname Christopher (husband’s fault) people often expect me to be a man. This has resulted in lots of confused faces over the years when people meet me, so to avoid all that I use my ‘proper’ name for my business, but feel free to call me Charlie :)
I specialise in photographing newborns, babies and toddlers and mainly work from my beautiful studio at Blackbrook Barns, located on the A38 between Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield. My little studio is designed to be a calm and relaxing space that you can sit back comfortably in while I capture some precious memories for your family to treasure forever.
I live with my husband Peter and our wonderful boys George and Rafael. And I absolutely ADORE babies which is one of the main reasons I decided to pursue this as a career. I never get bored of looking at babies and marveling in their magic. Those tiny fingers and toes, squishy little bottoms and toothless smiles.
Children change so quickly and the newborn phase is so short (although it may not feel it at the time when you’re surviving on two hours sleep a night). As a parent I have taken thousands of photographs of my boys, but I have to say the newborn ones have an extra special place in my heart. I would love to capture these memories for you.
I would feel equally as honoured to capture your baby’s milestones as they embark on their journey through childhood, whether it be sitting up independently, their first birthday or just generally playing and having fun.
I am fully insured and a member of the Baby and Newborn Photography Association (BANPAS) who promote safe working practices in newborn and baby photography. I have been trained by the co-founder of BANPAS and treat the safety and comfort of your baby as my absolute priority.
